Break in

Three men broke in last night and stole our computers. It's all on tape.
Anoche entraron a robar tres hombres y se llevaron nuestras computadoras. Está grabado.

2) Break in = Interrumpir

It's hard to talk to Mary now that she has a young son. He keeps breaking in every time we try to have a conversation.

3) Break in (shoes, equipment, etc.)

3.a) Is the theater far from here? I'm breaking in new shoes, you see. My feet will kill me if I walk a lot!
¿El teatro está lejos de acá? Es que estoy estrenando zapatos. ¡Me voy a morir de dolor de pies si camino mucho!

3.b) A: Can we take a cab home?
       A: ¿Podemos volver en taxi a casa?
B: Are you still breaking in those shoes? How much longer until they are comfortable?
B: ¿Seguís ablandando esos zapatos? ¿Cuánto falta para que sean cómodos?

Do you have any tips for breaking in shoes without much pain? They are more than welcome. You may leave them here! Have a great weekend!
