Tariff







Hoy, uno bien facilito. ¿Saben cómo se dice "tarifa" en inglés? ¡No es tariff!

Tariff existe, pero significa "arancel".

"Arancel" es un tipo de impuesto.

1) Importing has become very expensive with the new tariffs the government has implemented.
    La importación se ha vuelto muy costosa con los nuevos aranceles que implementó el gobierno.

"Tarifa" en cambio significa, básicamente, precio. Es el precio que se da a un servicio. Y eso, en inglés, es fee.

2) A: Here's the number of the translator I told you about.
          Acá está el número de la traductora de la que te hablé.
    B: Great. What's her fee?
         Genial. ¿Cuánto cobra? / ¿Qué tarifa tiene?
          
3) A: What's your shrink's fee? I think mine is overcharging me...
    A: ¿Cuánto te cobra tu sicólogo? Creo que el mío me está cobrando de más...
