Bear significa "oso", ¿verdad? Pero también es un verbo que significa "soportar", "aguantar", "resistir".

1) A: Do you think the bridge will bear our weight? It looks very old!
         ¿Te parece que el puente va a soportar nuestro peso? ¡Se ve muy viejo!

2) Please don't leave me. I couldn't bear it.
    Por favor, no me dejes. No podría soportarlo.

3) A: Would you like some coffee?
         ¿Querés café?
    B: No, thanks. Ever since I got pregnant I can't even bear the smell of it.
        No, gracias. Desde que quedé embarazada no aguanto ni el olor.

4) A: Do you want to look for another hotel?
         ¿Querés buscar otro hotel?
    B: God, yes! I thought you'd never say it. I couldn't bear another night at this dump.
        ¡Ay, sí! Pensé que nunca iba a llegar este momento. No podría resistir otra noche en esta pocilga.

¿Y bear with me? Eso no significa "yo acá con el oso" ni nada parecido. Es una expresión que significa "teneme paciencia". Es también una manera de pedirle a alguien que nos de un minuto mientras resolvemos algo.

5) A: Hey, is the file ready yet?
         Che, ¿ya terminaste el archivo?
    B: Uh, no. But it will be by this afternoon. I'm new here, please bear with me.
        Eh, no. Pero va a estar listo para esta tarde. Soy nuevo, te pido que me tengas paciencia.

6) A: Waiter! How much longer until you serve us?
         ¡Mozo! ¿Cuánto falta para que nos atiendan?
     B: I'm sorry, sir. We have a full house and we're short of staff. Please bear with us and we will serve you shortly.
          Le pido disculpas, señor. Estamos llenos y hay poco personal. Por favor, ténganos paciencia que lo vamos a atender pronto.

7) (On the phone)
    A: Hello. I'm calling for an appointment with Dr. Smith.
         Hola. Llamo para sacar un turno con el Dr. Smith.
    B: Yes, let me get his schedule. Bear with me... Here it is. Is Friday good for you?
         Sí, espere que miro la agenda. Un segundito... Acá está. ¿Le queda bien el viernes?

¿Están pensando en bare? Bare también existe y se pronuncia igual que bear (bɛəʳ), pero es otra cosa que merece su propia entrada. No es beer (cerveza) ni beard (barba), también parecidas. Just bear with me, llegará pronto.
