Phew! Just in time
En inglés, hay dos frases que podemos confundir fácilmente y significan cosas distintas: in time / on time. ¿Saben cuándo se usa cada una?
On time significa "puntual", "con puntualidad".
In time significa "a tiempo", antes de que sea tarde.
1) I got to the station just on time: at 5 O'clock, as you asked.
Llegué a la estación puntual: a las 5 en punto, como pediste.
En este ejemplo, la persona llegó a la estación a la hora convenida. Fue puntual.
2) I got to the station just in time: the train was about to leave when I got there!
Llegué a la estación justo a tiempo: ¡el train se estaba por ir cuando llegué!
En este otro ejemplo, la persona llegó a la estación con el tiempo justo para hacer lo que tenía que hacer: a tiempo para subirse al tren y nada más.
