Don't give up on phrasal verbs!!

Give up, otro phrasal verb que se escucha muy seguido en películas y series. Significa “rendirse”, y también “renunciar” a algo, desde una carrera ¡hasta el cigarrillo! Veamos ejemplos para entender más cómo se usa y qué significa.

1) I will never understand maths. I give up!

    Nunca voy a entender las matemáticas. ¡Me rindo!

2) Mary gave up smoking and now she feels a lot better!

    María dejó de fumar ¡y ahora se siente mucho mejor!

3) John gave up a career in tennis when he decided to stop playing and focus on his family.

   Juan renunció a una carrera en el tenis cuando decidió dejar de jugar y concentrarse en su familia.

4) I’m not going out with you. Give up!

    No voy a salir con vos. ¡Dejá de insistir!
